Attention! Chromacon is this week!
Where does the time go? I swear, 2015 has been such a blur so far. It’s going to be a big weekend. I’m really looking forward to it. However it does leave me frantically organising my last few bits and pieces for the show. Mostly just things for the booth. All the major things for the show are done.
What can you expect from me at Chromacon? Well it’s been a busy year already, so unfortunately I still have not made any new comics, but I have re-printed some ActionMan Adam books for anyone who hasn’t yet experienced them, to read. They’re in stock and ready to go.
I have a new book debuting at the show called Sketches. If you’ve been following my social media you’ll know I have been frequently posting black and white ink sketches. Just a fun project to draw whatever I’m feeling at any given moment. I’ve compiled some of my favourites into a book and will be selling this at Chromacon for $6. It came out great, so I can’t wait to share!
I also have a couple of new prints. One which I have already shown the world, and one which is brand new. I think they’re fun and colourful.
I’ll also have my usual assortment of stickers on hand if you’re into some colour to attach to a favourite object.
On top of all of this, I’m going to be doing free mini sketches for anyone who makes a comic or print purchase. You buy a comic or print, and I will draw you something. Your choice of character. Should be fun. I haven’t really done any live drawing for a while.
It’s going to be a fun show. The event is FREE entry, and runs across both Saturday and Sunday this weekend at Aotea Centre in Auckland City. Please do come by and say hello. Buy a comic or print, or both. Get a drawing done. See some other amazing artists who will also be displaying their fantastic work. Oh yeah!
Finally, all leftover stock will be offered on my online store after Chromacon. If you can’t make the show, you will be able to purchase from there, but if you’d really like something reserved now – let me know.
Thanks for reading.

Chromacon 2013 was probably the best art event I have ever had the privilege of attending. Such a great art community focus where the artists / vendors could interact with the public. Often times when you are making art work it is a very solitary activity, so when you share it, and get an opportunity to meet people to share your work with, it’s an amazing experience. Chromacon was the best of these experiences that I have had.
Outside of interacting with people who attended the show, meeting other peers is a truly inspiring function of the show as well. I had a good time reuniting with old friends, and making new ones along the way.
Well now it is time for Chromacon 2015, and we are doing it all over again. I’m in the process of organising my own art, comics and related items. It’s going to be a fun one.
If you were an attendee in 2013, and you had a good time exploring the stalls, please consider supporting the events Kickstarter to help cover the costs. There are some great supporter rewards available.
Above is a custom cover of my oldest ActionMan Adam comic. I found 3 blank covers that I was able to customise especially for this show.
Entry into Chromacon is free – all the details can be found right here.
See you there!
