September. You made it! We’re so happy to have you here. The year has gone by quickly but somehow you’re a month that signals the end of the calendar year is drawing close.

Fortunately for all of us in Auckland there are some good things happening in September that we can all look forward to before the year does come to a close. Auckland Libraries are dedicating the whole month of September to this art form that I love so dearly, comics. For the entire month there will be comic related events happening at Libraries city wide. For someone who discovered a love of comic books from picking up a copy of Asterix from a school library, this is fantastic news.

I have a couple of recommendations for you to check out, but you can see what your local library might be doing during the month here.

First recommendation is “The Panel“. Which sounds kind of ominous, but should be a great talk by some of NZ comics finest talents!

Second recommendation is LibraryCon 2014. Auckland Libraries have decided to stage their own mini comic convention at the Onehunga library. There will be a collection of artists and crafts people there to sell their wares, myself included. It should be a good time! There will be a lot of cool people with cool stuff there.

I’ll be there with the usual comics, prints and stickers, but I’ve also spent the last couple of weeks doing some paintings to sell, which I’ll start putting up for show on this blog soon. They’ve been a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to getting to LibraryCon so I can meet anyone who comes by and talk comics with them. Please do come down to say “hi”. I’ll do a small sketch for anyone who buys a comic or something off of me, I promise.

If you’re looking for something to do during September we should have you covered!
