Wow, are we almost through July already? Damn!
Greg has terrible taste in movies doesn’t he? Top Gun is such a bad movie. It’s good for a laugh, but I wonder how it was ever taken seriously. I re-watched it before drawing this page. I guess if it wasn’t for this film though, there would be no Hot Shots. It all evens out.
Did anyone go to San Diego Comic-Con? Was it fun? I miss that show. It’s big, and crowded, and intense, but there is nothing else quite like it. It can be draining, but also a lot of fun. Maybe one day I’ll get back there.

Hey everyone!
Crazy week. I’ve been trying to get back on track. Zinefest wiped me out, and then right after I had a good friends going away party. I was pretty tired, and the result of that was starting on the comic a day later than I was expecting. Hopefully you are enjoying the story though.
Zinefest was really great. I posted up my thoughts about it here. I’m now officially selling the comics I made for the event online. Go hit that store button above the comic if you’d like one!
Hope your week has been a good one.

ActionMan Adam – First Impressions now available online
July 20th, 2011 | by MarcHey everyone,
Well I have finally gotten my new book up for sale online. If you go to the store section of this site, you’ll now be greeted with a new Big Cartel store. The new store is a lot easier to navigate around and purchase from. It looks nice too!
Due to the First Impressions books all being limited and customised, I outlined some instructions on how to go about picking a custom cover. Make sure you read those first if you would like to pick a cover design.
Every First Impressions book purchased comes with a button and two stickers. I’m really proud of the end result. To get the books as I wanted I did almost all the work on this book myself. The folding, the trimming of certain pages. I’m happy with it, and I hope everyone who gets it really enjoys reading it.
Cheers!
Marc
Well, that is Auckland Zinefest over and out for another year. I was holding it to high standards based on how well the previous year went, and I’m happy to report that it didn’t disappoint! It was busy, interesting, tiring, inspirational and fun all at the same time. I’m always amazed at how fast the space can fill. Takes a good three quarters of an hour before the crowd is really packed in, but from then until the close of the festival it stays consistently busy!
The fun thing about the Zinefest is the diverse crowd it brings in. You get all types of people in there, and being that the whole event is to support self publishing, and the variety of stuff on offer from people, it’s very encouraging to see it so well supported. I had lots of awesome conversations with people this year. One guy went into detail about his dentist who was also named “Adam”. I met a young lady from Calgary, and we talked about Canada for a bit. Saw a few familiar faces from last year too. Also met some people whom I was familiar with online, but had not met face to face. That was really cool too.
All in all, another amazing event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Hats off to the organisers for putting on an incredible festival.
Now that the Zinefest is over, I’ll be able to make remaining stock of the new comic “ActionMan Adam – First Impressions” available for sale online. I’m in the process of getting this organised now, and I’ll have more information when it is available.

Hello again,
Well it seems even with a wrecked city, the guys are still looking to have a good time, maybe to just take their minds off it all for a while?
Seems like the best option, if you can, is to try and go about your life as normal as possible, even though the reality is about as far as you can get from it.
Switching topics! Are you in the Auckland area? Would you like to come meet me? Talk to me? Buy some comics from me? Of course you would! Well this weekend I’ll be at Auckland Zinefest. Selling some comics, and ready to talk to anyone who comes by the half table I’ve been assigned. If you’re in the area, please come by. It’s a really fun event. Details about the comics I’ll be selling can be found here, and the details about the Zinefest are here.
Hopefully I will see you there on Saturday!

Hello again,
During this trying time in Christchurch, people are making some tough decisions. The primary one, is of course, whether or not they can deal with continuing to live in the city. A lot of people are leaving and every reason for doing so is a legitimate one. However, a lot of people are also choosing to stay, and rough it out. It’s a personal choice. Knowing this, I knew I had to get to this page immediately after establishing damaged Christchurch into Adam’s world, so we knew where he stood. It was always going to end up like this, but it’s still important to know why.
Hope your week is going well. I’ve been extraordinarily busy this week. It’s been crazy. I’m not complaining though. That’s a good thing.
