Hey everyone,
As I mentioned last week, this week I am running a guest strip while I start work on the beginning of another chapter for my own storyline. Robin Hotter was the man nice enough to supply today’s comic. Robin can usually be found at his own website, or generally the comments area on this site. Make sure you go check his Deviant Art site for more of his art.
This dude has twin daughters – so believe me, with all the responsibilities he has to meet at home, I really appreciate him stepping up and delivering a great comic for me to run here. He even waited patiently for a few weeks for me to figure out how to wrap up my Party storyline before I could run his page.
Thank you kind sir, I really appreciate the comic – it looks great!

Marc
Hey everyone,
Hope you’ve been enjoying this storyline. This is the end of Chapter 4. I had fun making it. Though I will admit, all the earthquakes and the like made it hard to push through with it at times. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it.
Next week I will be running a guest comic in between the break in Chapters. I’m looking forward to getting that up, as I have been sitting on it for a little while. The artist who kindly donated it has been very patient with me, as I worked my way through this story.
Then it’s on to Chapter 5!

Hey all!
Hope this week has been treating you well. It’s been a rough old time in 2011 hasn’t it? I think just a couple of weeks ago I was recounting all these horrible disasters that have happened around the world in close frequency – and then the worst one yet, hit. The loss of life and destruction caused by that enormous tsunami is frightening. Here is hoping that the Japanese Government can successfully halt this impending nuclear meltdown soon. It is truly scary stuff. Japan, we love you!
Not much to report on my end, really. I hope the world catches a break soon. I think we all need some good news. Someone should organise a free ice cream day or something?

This is the second piece I made for the NZ Goes Pop show held at Wootini Gallery in Carrboro, North Carolina. The piece is called “Moon Walking” – as I wanted to do something quirky and this idea popped into my head. It was a fast piece for me to crank out, as I kept it minimal. Using my character Dave as the design for the space man, I decided to put him through his paces and see if he could keep up with the nessesary moves to pull off a successful moon walk. Ha ha!
It is India ink on bristol board, and with an ink wash applied for the grey tones. It was a fun piece to make, and it sold too, so hopefully the person who purchased it enjoys having it on their wall!
For a larger viewing size, check out my Flickr.
Remember, even though this piece is sold – you can still get my other piece “Shake Girl” from Wootini Gallery at their online store at a very affordable price. Check it out!

Today’s comic took a while to finish up. If you’ve been waiting for it, I apologise for the delay and hope you enjoy it. This one was actually based on a factual event. My friends Richard, Matt, Adam and I all went to a party and conversation always seems to start with talk about geographical location when you have a couple of guys from North America with you. Eventually there was some mild ribbing about Canada vs the USA, and without missing a beat Adam just calmly responds “It’s just great to be around all you Aussies”. Oh man, it was perfectly timed, and a well executed burn/response. I laughed pretty good with that one. Well done, sir. Now everyone can enjoy it – immortalised in comic form.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a wedding of good friends of ours. However it was a terrible day weather wise and it was supposed to be a beach wedding. The whole drive there it was just pouring rain. Fortunately as we decended upon the beach everything cleared right up. It was great. We had the lovely intimate ceremony on the beach. The waves crashing in the background. Very appropriate as the bride and groom both lived out there, and the groom is a surfer.
No sooner had photos been taken and people were making their way back to the reception in their vehicles, it started raining again. The break in the weather was absolutely timed to perfection. Couldn’t have been better. It was good times all around.
Then a couple of days ago this happened not so far away from my house. Kinda crazy right?
Hope everyone else has had a good week.
Marc
If you had a head like that, imagine how much easier your trips to the dentist would be? Seriously, it would save a lot of grief I’m willing to bet.
Another busy week is reaching an end. Crazy that we’re already into March for 2011 isn’t it? On the drive into work the other morning I saw the trees were already losing some of their green luster. I guess that means soon enough they’ll be bare again, and down in the Southern hemisphere here, we’ll be facing colder weather. After a very humid summer, I don’t think I’ll be complaining too much about it. It’s been a rough summer after all. Floods in Queensland and Victoria. Bush Fires in Western Australia. Another big quake in Christchurch. Let’s hope it all settles down soon.
This weekend will be another busy one. I’ll see you all here next week.

Marc
